Challenge 20 Statement 27.04.2020
As the battle with COVID-19 continues, the Challenge20 Management team, and the County Executive Committee have been examining options for Challenge20.
During any Scouting events or activities, the safety of our young people and adults is always at the forefront of our minds. With that in mind, we have had to take the difficult decision to postpone Challenge20.
Fear not, however. Since this is a postponement and not a cancellation, Challenge20 simply becomes Challenge20+1! We will be returning to Bramham Park for the fantastic festival for young people that Challenge20+1 will be, from the 9th -11th July 2021. Mark it in your diaries now, because it is going to be epic!
If you have already completed a registration of interest or firm booking for Challenge20 (including staff bookings), we will transfer this over to the 2021 date and confirm with your lead booking contact that we have done this. If you are unable to attend the 2021 date please let us know and we will refund your payment.
We will also refund all payments made towards Challenge20 clothing and will be in contact with those who have already made clothing orders directly to arrange this.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who had volunteered to give up your time for this year’s event, whether as a leader with your Group, staff member or Management team member.
We are of course saddened that we are not able to provide what was shaping up to be an incredible event for the whole County as Challenge20 this year. However, don’t remove the date from your diaries this year, as Challenge20 is moving online for a virtual event on the same dates as Challenge20 would have been taking place – the 10th – 12th July 2020!
Keep your eyes peeled for further information about our Virtual Challenge20, and more details about Challenge20+1 which will be released in the near future.
Kind regards,
James
